E-Commerce Terms and Conditions

Shop.iti.org.uk is a site operated by ITI (Institute of Translation and Interpreting).

We are registered in England and Wales under company number 02166933 and with our registered office at Suite 141, Milton Keynes Business Centre, Foxhunter Drive, Linford Wood, Milton Keynes, MK14 6GD. Our VAT number is GB 505 9016 64.  

These Terms set out the terms agreed between You (“the Customer”) and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) with regards to purchases made via Shop.iti.org.uk (defined below). Please read these Terms carefully as they contain important information.

Use of 'cookies'

Like many other websites, we place a “cookie”, small pieces of information sent to your computer and stored on your hard drive, to allow us to recognise you when you return to the site. This helps us to improve our website and deliver a better more personalised service. This information does not identify you as an individual and is used only for tracking of site use.

If you do not wish to use “cookies” you may disable this option in your Internet browser settings. “Cookies” can also be removed easily from your computer.


1.     Definitions

1.1.   "Purchase" means a product selection made by You via the ITI Shop.iti.org.uk website.

1.2.    “Fee” means the total sum payable by You to ITI for Event/Workshop/Course or Download.

1.3.    “Payee” means the individual paying for the Event/Workshop/Course or Download.

1.4.   “VAT” means value added tax now chargeable for this Event under English Law pursuant to HMRC VAT Notice 741A Place of Supply of Services dated 9 August 2016.

 

2.     Payment and VAT 

2.1.    Payment for Purchase can only be made via the ITI e-Commerce Website using a credit or debit card. All Fee payments must be made in Sterling. All bank charges shall be covered by the Payee.

2.2.    All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT charged at 20%.  

2.3.    All payment details entered through the payment gateway are encrypted. Therefore no amendments can be made by ITI to the details entered by You or the Payee or to any receipts/confirmations that are subsequently issued. You are responsible for ensuring that all information entered via the ITI e-Commerce Website is accurate and correct.

 

3.     Cancellations/ Refunds

 

3.1.    Events, workshops and courses

You have the right to cancel the purchase of Event/Workshop/Course without having to give a reason at any time within the "cooling off period" of seven working days, beginning on the day after you purchase the goods.

 

3.1.1. To cancel a Booking for Event, Workshop or Online course You shall notify ITI in writing prior to the Event/Workshop/Course date. Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel the contract, any sum owed to you will refunded as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your cancellation.

3.1.2. For cancellation Fees that apply please refer to the Event/Workshop/Course terms and conditions for the relevant Purchase.

3.1.3. In the event of non-attendance at the Event/Workshop/Course no refunds will be given.

3.1.4. ITI may (at its sole discretion) suspend the Event/Workshop/Online Course, change the date(s) and/or venue for the Event/Workshop/Course for any reason and if You are able to attend the revised Event/Workshop/Course, these Terms shall continue to apply. If You promptly notify ITI in writing before the date of the Event/Workshop/Course that You do not wish to attend the re-arranged Event/Workshop/Course ITI shall reimburse the Fee to You. ITI shall have no other liability to You in respect of the Event

 

3.2.    Downloads

3.2.1. Once a download has started you lose your right to cancel.

3.2.2. If your digital content develops a fault, you have the right to have your digital product replaced without charge. If there is a problem with your download please contact info@iti.org.uk.

 

4.     Data protection

All information that ITI hold regarding your booking will be held and processed strictly in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation May 2018. See our Privacy Policy.

 

5.     Recorded material

Any and all photographs, videos, or other recorded media captured at the Event/Workshop/Course may be used by ITI for the purposes of marketing and advertising without any payment or compensation being offered and without any request being made to the featured parties. ITI shall retain the copyright in all photographs, footage and sound recordings produced at or in connection with the Event/Workshop/Course.

 

6.     Accuracy of information

All information given in any literature produced by or on behalf of ITI is given in good faith and is intended as a guide to services /events available only and is subject to change without notice.

 

7.     Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by English law. Any contract for the purchase of goods from this site and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with any such contract will be governed by English law.
